Our Story
The Legacy
Founded in 1947, Rajkamal Prakashan was born alongside an independent India. Its founders believed that language is the soul of a nation, and that Hindi — spoken and read by hundreds of millions — deserved a publishing house wholly dedicated to its flourishing.
From its earliest years the press championed writers who questioned, imagined, and challenged — authors such as Premchand, Harishankar Parsai, Nirmal Verma, Mannu Bhandari, and Kamleshwar, whose words gave shape to the anxieties and aspirations of post-Partition India.
Today the Rajkamal Prakashan Group — which includes Radhakrishna Prakashan and Lokbharti Prakashan — is the custodian of a living catalogue of over 10,000 titles spanning literary fiction, poetry, biography, history, philosophy, children's books, and translated world classics. Every year we add hundreds of new voices to that conversation, ensuring that the tradition of serious Hindi publishing continues to grow.
Milestones

Radhakrishna Prakashan joins the group, broadening the list to include popular, regional, and socio-political writing.
